Can we assume the maximum avulsion distance is the distance water would travel before it reaches the next crossing?
(The guide is currently not clear on whether or not this should be recorded for drainage structures)

The avulsion distance is how long/far the water would travel before (in the new channel it could possibly carve) before meeting back up again with the main channel.
