    Encountering old assessments

In our current work area, there are a small number of assessments from a 2008 study of the Ashuelot watershed. They do not have a photo point associated with them. Based on the date, we would like to collect new information. How should we proceed? My current guidance to our team is to collect a new point.

Comment for discussion: a new field to "sunset," but preserve old assessments and photos (i.e. previous assessment, methodology superseded, culvert replaced, etc.) might be useful in understanding the history of a site.

    Henry,

Please refer to the flow chart (attached below) on the bottom of Page 6 in the protocol document. This will help identify when to update points versus leaving them as they are. Please avoid dropping a second point at a location which has been previously assessed. If the flow chart is instructing you to "perform assessment" please Edit the existing point and change pertinent data rather than creating a second point.

Let me know if that makes sense. -Chris

This flow chart will cover 95+% of cases - always feel free to call us up if it remains unclear for a location.
